There are cows in the pasture directly behind my house... makes me feel right at home.

Happy Mother's Day
Mother's Day is a special day. My mother is 88... half way to 89. She has been a wonderful stability to me as her daughter and to our children. She has loved us and prayed for us... laughed and cried with us.
Mom grew up during the depression. Times were hard. She became the only child in her family when her brother died of a heart ailment at 15 years. Mom was a country school teacher and rode horseback to school. She killed the rattlesnake on the schoolhouse steps.
Mom is a breast cancer survivor.
Mom has been a wonderful example of a wife and a mother.
Mom is getting frail. Her mind is not as clear as it was. She repeats herself. She forgets things in the present..... but she is still my mom and I want to cherish her and love her in the last years of her life.
