Happy New Year

I have no idea who all visits this blog but Happy New Year to all of you!

2010 was full of changes, moving, good-byes, new places and faces.

Looking forward to 2011 with opportunities and priveleges.

Florida snowmen!

"Bless their hearts".... these snowmen traveled all the way across the county last spring. They SWEATED out the summer here in Florida..... but here they are enjoying winter at my house.

A 90th birthday photo

My mother had a 90th birthday October 20th. I flew home and spent 2 weeks with her. 90 years is a long time but still life is like a dream, like a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanisheth away.

Lots has happened in those 90 years. Joys, sorrow, tears, laughter, change, adjustments, accomplishments and a growing faith in a living God.

Mom is living in the house she was born in. Not many people can say that. Of course it looks nothing like it did then.

Mom rode horseback to teach in a one room country school house in her young days. She killed a rattlesnake on the school house steps. Mom forgets alot about life right now in the moment but she can tell stories of by gone days with accurate descriptions.

Mom will tell you that growing old is not easy sometimes. She misses my dad. She graciously gave up driving so she doesn't have freedom like she once had. Her eyesight isn't what it once was and she worries that she will lose more of it. Some days are long and lonely. I need to remember that we too might experience these things if we are granted many years.
