Project Linus ...
Donated a few finished quilts to a nice cause. Project Linus is a national organization for giving quilts and blankets to children newborn to 18 years. Each local chapter works within their county so the quilts are distributed locally unless there is a national disaster.
It was an opportunity to use fabrics in my stash that I would like to clear out.
I saw many interesting blankets at the Make A Blanket Day. There is a lady in the community that makes quilts nonstop and she is almost 90 years old. The organization tries to keep her supplied with donated fabric for the cause.

My "Baker City Oregon" Quilt
One day when I lived in Baker City, I went to my favorite quilt store. On the counter to be "kitted" was a stack of fabric on bolts. It was the collection in the above quilt. I hardly ever bought a kit because I love to choose my own colors and patterns. However, this particular set of fabrics appealed to me and I couldn't improve on the selection.
I got this pattern and fabric out and completed this quilt last week. I have lots of memories of living in that town. I did not live there long. Life has taken me away from there. I came to Baker at a very difficult time in life. My husband Roger had been diagnosed with dementia. The last chapter of Roger's life was lived in Baker City.
I have some wonderful friends in Baker. Grandchildern were born there. A little piece of my life story was written there. Traditions Quilt store is still there. If you are ever in the area stop in and say hello to Dawn K for me. ...... and I do miss the beauty of the mountains on the horizon.

It is the little things.....
Life's greatest joys are sometimes found in the little things.
...... a child that comes up for a quick 'love' squeeze and then hurries off to play.
...... a friend that says... "do you remember when".
...... a line of a hymn that has a fresh meaning for the day.
...... a tiny baby with a lopsided grin learning that there are friendly faces looking at him.
...... signs of life on a shrub you thought was dead.
