The start of a new quilt.... PINEAPPLE CRAZY

This is a huge quilting project.   I can't believe I am even doing it.    These blocks are paper pieced.  There are 12,000 pieces in this quilt,    I have 84 five inch blocks of 224 made so far and that doesn't count for the border blocks or the corner blocks.   I do love the pattern and results are stunning.   That is what keeps me going and sewing.
If I get it done by February 2014 I may enter it in the local quilt show.     I will have to keep at it to get it done.   It is very time consuming!

Going in circles.....

A memory quilt for a customer.

Took an order for a memory quilt for a sweet lady who wanted to remember her son.   His T- shirts and other shirts were used as the squares.

Quilt top completion!

Yes, there have been lots of posts about the EASY STREET mystery quilt.  !!!

It has been a very exciting project.    It is hard to believe that Bonnie Hunter from Quiltville kicked off this mystery on October 31st and I now have a very large quilt top completely pieced.    Thanks Bonnie for the motivation, the pattern and all the instructions.    All I can say is WOW.    It has been fun and I am kind of sorry it is done.   ( ....  well sort of . )
As I was piecing I was wishing WALDO from "Where's Waldo" would have been in there somewhere but he isn't.

I plan to quilt it on my longarm next week.   It will have a purple fabric on the back and I think oyster grey thread is the color I will use.   Binding will be purple.   I always like contrast bindings to frame the quilt.    I am thinking some feathery pattern for the quilting design.
